What is it with Americans and dates that they feel the need to write them backwards? When asked to enter my birthdate for my profile on here, I put 26/05/1970 - the 26th of May, 1970, only to have this rejected. Look, the 26th of May is 26/05, not 05/26. There is no 26th month, to my knowledge.
So next time an American talks to you about 9/11, ask them what happened on the 9th of November anyway.
Funny the things that annoy you sometimes.

It was, however, extremely convenient for me as a 17-year-old American exchange student to Norway (back in the day.) As my driver's license read "12/04/67", it made me already 18--legal drinking age--on my Norwegian student I.D.!
Ah, underage drinking. I remember it well.
Well, some of it.
