Over the course of the weekend, I made an interesting and unexpected discovery.
It seems that an iPod can survive being submerged in water for up to twenty seconds. I'd rather not go into the specifics of how this discovery came about - suffice to say that I had been drinking.

Even with the drinking and the likely location of said water, that's still not as dumb as the time I set my handbag in a public restroom sink (no counters there) and the bag began to fill up with water from the automatic faucet (still novel way back in those days.)
My PDA did not take it as well as your iPod. Luckily, it was still under warranty, and after it was dried out it was returnable for "unknown failure"!
